Autoimmune Screening Test (ANA with Reflex)

Detect autoantibodies in your blood related to various autoimmune diseases to help you and your healthcare provider determine next steps.

This test first checks for ANAs in your blood to help detect if an autoimmune disease is present. If ANAs are found, a series of more specific tests will be performed until autoantibodies associated with specific diseases are detected. This may include up to five rounds of testing on your provided sample. The test helps identify the presence of autoimmune diseases and guides further medical action. Early detection is crucial for managing autoimmune conditions effectively. Understanding your autoantibody profile can help you and your doctor make informed decisions about your health.

Common Use
Inflammation screening, autoimmune detection

Who Is This For?

Anyone with unexplained joint pain, fatigue, or recurrent symptoms that could indicate autoimmune activity. People with a family history of autoimmune diseases (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto's). Health-conscious individuals tracking inflammation as part of a longevity protocol. Those recovering from illness or injury who want to monitor their inflammatory response.

What's Included

High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP)
Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)
Additional markers vary by panel (ANA, RF, cytokines)

Preparation Required

No fasting required for most inflammation markers. Avoid intense exercise for 24 hours before testing, as it temporarily elevates CRP and other inflammatory markers. Inform your provider of any acute illness, injury, or infection, as these will cause temporary elevations unrelated to chronic conditions.

Panel Categories

Inflammation Panel Kidney Function Panel Diabetes Panel Sports Performance Panel Cardiac Health Panel Immune Function Panel Anti-Aging & Longevity Panel Iron Panel Metabolic Panel Women’s Health Panel

Biomarkers Tested

13
Anti-Jo-1 titer

Marker for Polymyositis.

Anti-RNP antibodies titer

Marker for mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD).

Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) titer

A marker of the autoimmune process, positive in various autoimmune diseases.

Centromere B Positive/Negative

Anti-centromere B antibodies are associated with CREST syndrome (a form of systemic sclerosis).

ESR mm/hr

Erythrocyte sedimentation rate — measures how quickly red blood cells settle to the bottom of a test tube. Faster settling indicates more inflammation. ESR is a non-specific marker used to monitor inflammatory conditions like arthritis and vasculitis.

Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) pg/mL

Measures the cell-mediated immune (CMI) response to T-cells to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. Does not differentiate between latent TB infection and TB disease.

Osmolality mOsm/kg

Osmolality measures the concentration of dissolved particles in the blood, indicating hydration status.

Ribosomal P Positive/Negative

Antibodies to ribosomal P proteins are associated with various autoimmune diseases.

SSB Positive/Negative

Anti-SSB (La) antibodies are associated with Sjögren's syndrome and SLE.

Scl-70 Positive/Negative

Anti-Scl-70 (topoisomerase I) antibodies are highly specific for systemic sclerosis.

Sm/RNP Positive/Negative

Antibodies to Sm/RNP (Smith/ribonucleoprotein) are highly specific for SLE.

Tin µg/L

A metal found in canned foods, solder, and industrial materials. While small amounts of inorganic tin are relatively non-toxic, high levels can cause gastrointestinal irritation. Organotin compounds are more toxic and affect the immune and nervous systems.

hs-CRP (High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein) mg/L

A highly sensitive test for low-grade chronic inflammation linked to cardiovascular disease risk. Lower hs-CRP values are associated with better cardiovascular outcomes.
