Hyaluronic acid placed into the tear-trough hollow beneath the eye to soften the shadowed groove that can make the face look tired. A dedicated, less cross-linked filler is used and laid down carefully with a cannula to smooth the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek. This is a technically demanding area, performed here by a surgeon, and the result can be dissolved if an adjustment is ever wanted.
The tear trough is the groove that runs from the inner corner of the eye along the top of the cheek. As the area loses support with age it can deepen into a shadowed hollow that reads as tiredness, regardless of how well rested you are. Carefully placed hyaluronic acid fills and smooths this transition so light no longer pools in the groove, refreshing the lower-eye area without surgery. This is one of the more demanding sites in facial aesthetics because the skin is thin and the anatomy delicate, so it is performed by Dr Kukulski with topical EMLA or Anesderm anaesthetic and usually a blunt cannula to reduce bruising. A softer, appropriately chosen hyaluronic acid is used and conservative volumes are placed; results are visible immediately and settle over one to two weeks. Mild swelling or small bruises can occur and typically resolve within a few days. Hyaluronic acid in this area commonly lasts around nine to eighteen months. The treatment is best suited to true volume-loss hollows rather than puffiness or excess skin, which is why an assessment is important and is reflected in the price range. As with all hyaluronic acid work, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you wish to adjust the result. Correcting the hollow is associated with a fresher, less tired appearance. Suitability and any contraindications are reviewed first.
