Mole & Skin-Lesion Removal (Dermatosurgery)

Type

Mole Removal

Duration

30 min

Removal of moles and benign skin lesions by a surgeon, either by surgical excision with the option of histopathology, or by electrosurgery for lesions such as warts, skin tags, cherry angiomas and seborrhoeic keratoses. Performed under local anaesthetic by Dr Kukulski, whose background is in oncological and reconstructive surgery, with excised tissue able to be sent for laboratory examination when appropriate.

QKA offers surgical removal of moles and a range of benign skin lesions, carried out by Dr Kukulski, an oncological and general surgeon. Two main techniques are used depending on the lesion. Surgical excision removes a mole or lesion with a scalpel under local anaesthetic and allows the removed tissue to be sent for histopathological examination — important whenever there is any question about the nature of a lesion; the clinic prices this from 900 zł, with each additional lesion removed in the same sitting from 600 zł, and histopathology at 150 zł (up to 1 cm) or 200 zł (over 1 cm). Electrosurgery uses a fine electrical current to remove more clearly benign surface lesions such as common and seborrhoeic warts, cherry and ruby angiomas, actinic (solar) keratoses, milia and soft fibromas (skin tags), priced from 700 zł. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so it is comfortable, and most lesions are dealt with in a single short visit. Excision sites are closed with sutures and aftercare instructions are given; electrosurgical sites form a small scab that heals over one to two weeks. Because lesions are assessed by a surgeon and tissue can be examined in the laboratory when appropriate, this is a thorough route for both cosmetic removal and lesions that should be checked. This listing covers benign and cosmetic lesion removal; any lesion suspected of being a skin cancer is assessed and managed separately, and a dermoscopic skin examination is available if you would like moles reviewed first. Suitability, the most appropriate technique and aftercare are discussed before the procedure.
