Microneedling
Duration
45 min
Dermal needling (microneedling) uses fine needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin, stimulating the body's natural collagen production to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, minimise pore size, and address superficial scarring. Performed under medical supervision at the Sydney CBD clinic. Minimal downtime with mild redness typically resolving within 24 to 48 hours.
About this treatment
Dermal needling, also known as microneedling or collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin treatment available at Pure Aesthetics Sydney under the medical oversight of Dr Steven Merten FRACS. The procedure involves a precision device fitted with fine needles that create thousands of controlled micro-injuries across the skin surface. These micro-channels trigger the skin's natural wound-healing response, stimulating fibroblast activity and…
The treatment is suited to a range of skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, rough or uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, acne scarring and other superficial scars, stretch marks, and general skin dullness or laxity. At Pure Aesthetics, treatments are tailored to individual skin type and concern level, and the depth and intensity of needle penetration can be adjusted accordingly.
A topical anaesthetic cream is typically applied prior to treatment to maintain comfort throughout the session. The procedure itself takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes depending on the treatment area covered. Most patients experience mild redness and skin sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours following treatment, after which skin returns to normal with no extended downtime required.
