Sofwave — Face Tightening

Sofwave treatment at Projekt Skora uses the SUPERB (Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam) technology to deliver focused ultrasound energy to the mid-dermal layer of the skin at a precise depth of 1.5mm. This targeted heating raises tissue temperature to 60-70°C in the treatment zone, causing controlled thermal injury that triggers a wound-healing cascade and robust neocollagenesis — the formation of new collagen and elastin fibres. Unlike HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) devices that target deeper tissue layers and the SMAS, Sofwave concentrates energy in the collagen-rich mid-dermis where the majority of skin's structural support resides. The device's integrated cooling system (SofCool) maintains epidermal temperature below 40°C throughout the treatment, protecting the skin surface from thermal damage while the underlying tissue receives therapeutic heating. A full-face treatment takes approximately 60 minutes and treats the forehead, periorbital area, cheeks, jawline, and submental region. Most patients describe the sensation as moderate warmth with intermittent prickling during energy delivery. No anaesthesia is typically required, though topical numbing can be applied for sensitive patients. Post-treatment, mild redness may be visible for a few hours but there is no significant downtime — patients can apply makeup and resume normal activities the same day. Results develop gradually over 8 to 12 weeks as new collagen matures, with continued improvement for up to 6 months. The lifting and firming effect is most noticeable along the jawline, under the chin, and in the brow area.
