Cryolipolysis with the Clatuu system targets stubborn pockets of fat by cooling them to a temperature that damages fat cells while sparing the overlying skin. The treated cells are then cleared naturally over the following weeks. It is a non-surgical option for defined bulges — such as the abdomen, flanks or thighs — in people close to their target weight, rather than a treatment for overall weight loss.

About this treatment

Cryolipolysis, often called fat freezing, uses controlled cooling to target localised fat. A vacuum applicator draws the bulge into a cup and cools it to a temperature at which fat cells are damaged while the skin, nerves and other tissues are protected. Each applicator runs for around an hour; you feel intense cold and suction at first, which usually eases as the area numbs, and you can read or relax during treatment. Afterwards the area may be red, firm, swollen or temporarily numb for a few days to a couple of weeks.
