Crown on Implant

A crown on an implant is the final, visible part of implant treatment. After a titanium implant has been placed and has integrated with the jawbone, an abutment connects the implant to a custom-made crown that sits at the gum line and looks like a natural tooth. The crown restores the ability to bite and chew on that tooth and fills the gap left by the missing tooth, completing the implant restoration.

Impressions or digital scans are taken so the laboratory can produce a precise fit, and the crown is then secured to the implant.
