White matter signal changes that may indicate demyelinating disease, small vessel ischaemia, or prior silent infarcts are clearly visible on FLAIR and T2-weighted sequences. The examination also assesses the paranasal sinuses, mastoid air cells, and orbits, occasionally revealing incidental ENT findings. Head MRI is commonly requested for persistent or unusual headaches, episodes of dizziness or vertigo, visual disturbances, tinnitus, cognitive changes, or as a preventive baseline in individuals with a family history of neurological conditions.
