Type
MRI Scan
Duration
30 min
1.5T MRI of a single knee joint evaluating menisci, cruciate and collateral ligaments, articular cartilage, and subchondral bone. No referral required for standard scans.
The knee MRI at PrivatHospitalet Danmark uses the Philips 1.5T scanner to produce detailed images of the internal knee structures. The protocol covers sagittal, coronal, and axial planes with proton-density and T2-weighted sequences optimised for soft-tissue contrast within the joint. The radiologist systematically evaluates the medial and lateral menisci for tears and degeneration, the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments for disruption, the medial and lateral collateral ligaments, articular cartilage across all three compartments, and subchondral bone for marrow oedema or occult fractures. The patellofemoral compartment is assessed for cartilage damage and tracking abnormalities. This single-region scan is priced at 2,625 DKK (before the 6% insurance surcharge). Patients with bilateral knee symptoms can add the second knee as a same-day additional region at 1,313 DKK. No referral is needed for the native scan. The examination takes approximately 30 minutes.
