The brain MRI at PrivatHospitalet Danmark is performed on a Philips 1.5 Tesla scanner and covers the entire intracranial compartment. Standard sequences include T1-weighted, T2-weighted, FLAIR, and diffusion-weighted imaging in multiple planes, together providing comprehensive assessment of brain parenchyma, ventricles, and posterior fossa structures. The scan is available without a doctor's referral, making it accessible for patients seeking investigation of persistent headaches, dizziness, visual disturbances, or family history of neurological disease. For patients who need contrast enhancement — for example to characterise a known lesion or assess blood-brain barrier integrity — a referral is required, and the contrast agent carries an additional charge of 840 DKK. Results are interpreted by one of the hospital's five specialist radiologists and typically delivered within 10 business days. Patients without a referring doctor can book a telephone consultation (500 DKK) to discuss findings. A mandatory 6% patient insurance surcharge is added to the listed price.
