MRI Scan

40 min
1.5T MRI of the abdomen covering liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, and surrounding structures. Available as a single-region scan; contrast enhancement requires referral.
The abdominal MRI at PrivatHospitalet Danmark provides cross-sectional imaging of the solid abdominal organs using the Philips 1.5T scanner. The standard native protocol includes T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and diffusion-weighted sequences covering the liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, and adrenal glands. The scan is indicated for characterisation of focal organ lesions, follow-up of known hepatic or renal masses, assessment of pancreatic cysts, and evaluation of abdominal lymphadenopathy. As a radiation-free modality it is well suited for patients requiring serial surveillance imaging. Note that the standard single-region price list excludes the abdomen from the basic 2,625 DKK tier — the abdominal scan may be priced differently or require specific arrangement. Patients should confirm pricing when booking. Contrast-enhanced abdominal imaging (for dynamic liver characterisation, for example) requires a medical referral and an additional 840 DKK for the contrast agent.
