Type
MRI Scan
Duration
1 hour
MRI of the cervical spine (neck region) assessing vertebrae, discs, spinal cord, and nerve roots. Same-day radiologist consultation included. No referral needed.
The cervical spine MRI at Prescan images the neck region including the seven cervical vertebrae, intervertebral discs, spinal cord, and exiting nerve roots. The scan uses AI Deep Resolve technology on either 1.5T or 3T scanners for clear visualisation of disc herniations, foraminal stenosis, spinal cord compression, and degenerative changes. This examination is commonly requested for persistent neck pain, upper limb numbness or weakness, post-injury assessment, and as part of a broader musculoskeletal screening. The radiologist evaluates each disc level for herniation or protrusion, grades any canal or foraminal stenosis, and assesses the spinal cord for signal changes suggesting myelopathy. At Prescan, the appointment includes a personal intake, the scan itself, and a same-day face-to-face consultation with the radiologist. Patients leave the clinic with a clear understanding of their findings and a referral letter if further investigation or treatment is warranted.
