Head MRI (Brain & Skull)

Prescan's head MRI provides detailed imaging of the brain tissue, cerebral blood vessels, ventricular system, and skull structure. The examination uses AI Deep Resolve technology for enhanced image clarity and can identify a range of abnormalities including cysts, haemorrhages, inflammatory changes, and structural anomalies.

The scan is particularly effective for detecting early signs of neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and epilepsy, vascular issues like aneurysms, and trauma-related changes including contusions. It should be noted that under Dutch Population Screening Act (WBO) regulations, preventive screening cannot be marketed for tumour detection specifically, though structural abnormalities are naturally visible on the images.

The appointment takes approximately 75 minutes in total: a 10-minute intake, the 45-minute scan itself, and a 20-minute personal consultation with a radiologist to review and explain the findings. This same-day results model is a significant advantage over many imaging centres that require patients to wait days for their report. If any abnormality is found, a referral to the patient's GP or an appropriate specialist is provided.
