The Total Body Scan Excellent builds on the Standard tier by adding three diagnostic layers that significantly broaden the screening scope. CT lung imaging screens for pulmonary nodules, emphysema, and other thoracic abnormalities that MRI alone does not optimally assess. Cardiac calcium scoring quantifies coronite artery calcification -- a direct predictor of cardiovascular event risk that is increasingly used in preventive cardiology to guide statin and lifestyle intervention decisions. Carotid and thyroid ultrasound adds real-time imaging of the neck vessels and thyroid gland. Carotid ultrasound can detect plaque build-up and stenosis in the arteries supplying the brain, providing an independent stroke risk data point. Thyroid ultrasound identifies nodules, cysts, and structural changes that are remarkably common (found in up to 60% of the adult population) but are usually harmless -- the value lies in identifying the small fraction that warrant further investigation. The premium laboratory panel adds blood, stool, and urine analysis covering standard haematological, metabolic, and organ function markers. This combination of imaging and laboratory data gives the reviewing physician a multi-dimensional picture of the patient's health status. All imaging and laboratory work is coordinated through Prescan's partner facilities in Vienna. The total examination time is longer than the Standard tier due to the additional CT, ultrasound, and laboratory components.
