Type
MRI Scan
Duration
30 min
A standalone MRI of the head and skull, screening for structural abnormalities, tumours, cysts, and other intracranial findings. Conducted at a partner radiology facility in Vienna with specialist radiologist review and a detailed findings report.
A dedicated head MRI provides detailed cross-sectional imaging of the brain, meninges, and surrounding skull structures. The scan can detect space-occupying lesions (tumours, cysts, abscesses), signs of prior stroke or transient ischaemic events, white matter changes, hydrocephalus, and structural abnormalities that may be relevant to symptoms such as persistent headaches, visual disturbances, or cognitive changes. Unlike CT, MRI uses no ionising radiation and provides superior soft-tissue contrast, making it the preferred modality for brain imaging in a preventive screening context. The scan typically takes 20 to 40 minutes depending on the sequences required. No contrast agent is used in the standard preventive protocol unless clinically indicated. Prescan coordinates the appointment at a partner radiology facility in Vienna. Images are reviewed by a specialist radiologist, and a detailed findings report is provided. This scan can be booked as a standalone investigation or combined with other individual MRI regions for broader coverage at a lower per-region cost than the Total Body Scan packages.
