Breast Reduction (Redukce prsou)

Breast reduction — reduction mammaplasty — removes a planned volume of breast tissue and skin, reshapes the breast mound, and repositions the nipple-areola complex to a naturally higher position on the chest. The amount removed is planned jointly with the patient in advance; the outcome is a smaller, lighter, and better-proportioned breast that sits firmly on the chest without the heaviness that causes musculoskeletal strain.

MUDr. Zálešák and MUDr. Stehlík use one of the standard reduction patterns — vertical (lollipop), inverted-T (anchor), or, for small reductions, periareolar — selected based on the degree of reduction required and the patient's breast anatomy. Surgical time is 2–3 hours under general anaesthesia. The microsurgical loupes the surgeons habitually wear allow fine-detail suturing of the deep tissue layers and more controlled skin closure.

The functional benefits of breast reduction are well-documented: relief from neck and shoulder pain caused by excessive weight, improvement in posture, resolution of inframammary skin rash, and elimination of shoulder-groove indentation from bra straps.
