MUDr. Martin Kloud — plastic surgeon

Type

Laser

Duration

45 min

What's included

5 deliverables in this treatment

  • Pre-operative assessment of scar length, orientation, and tissue quality
  • Local anaesthetic infiltration of the scar and surrounding tissue
  • Surgical scar excision and layered wound closure with plastic surgery technique
  • Suture removal appointment
  • Post-operative scar management protocol (silicone, sun protection)

Scar correction at MUDr. Kloud's practice improves the appearance of hypertrophic, keloid, widened, or irregular scars through surgical revision — excising the existing scar, optimising tissue alignment, and closing with fine plastic surgery suturing technique to produce a narrower, less visible result. Priced by scar length: CZK 3,000 (up to 5 cm), CZK 5,000 (5–10 cm), CZK 7,000 (over 10 cm). Performed under local anaesthesia as an ambulatory procedure. Scars from injury, previous surgery, or acne are all addressable. MUDr. Kloud's training and daily practice in wound closure make scar revision one of the core competences of a plastic surgeon.

About this treatment

Scar revision surgery exploits the plastic surgeon's expertise in wound geometry, tissue tension, and closure technique to replace an existing suboptimal scar with a finer, better-oriented one. Not all scars are amenable to surgical revision — some scars in high-tension areas or with ongoing collagen overactivity require combination treatment — but the majority of widened, raised, or irregular scars from trauma or previous surgery can be meaningfully…

MUDr. Kloud's approach to scar revision begins with assessment at consultation: the scar's length, width, orientation relative to skin tension lines, texture, colour, and any functional component (tethering to underlying tissue, movement restriction) are evaluated. This determines whether surgical excision alone will be sufficient, or whether adjuncts such as Z-plasty (geometric scar rearrangement to redirect tension), W-plasty (irregular incision to…

The standard technique involves excision of the existing scar with a thin elliptical design, followed by meticulous wound closure in layers — deep absorbable sutures to take tension off the skin surface, and fine surface sutures or tissue glue to align the skin edges with minimal trauma. The result is a narrower scar whose wound edges are in precise apposition — the primary determinant of final scar width.
