Surgery lasts one to three hours under general anaesthesia at Sanatorium Sanus, with up to two post-operative nights. A protective splint or plaster cast is applied over the nose at the end of surgery and removed at a follow-up around day ten. Any nasal packing is also removed at this early visit. Sutures from open approaches dissolve or are removed at the same time. Most patients return to work or social activities within two weeks. Sports and activities that risk nasal trauma should be avoided for at least four weeks. Sun exposure should be minimised for two months as the healing nasal skin can develop hyperpigmentation. Final results, including full softening of tip swelling, emerge over six to twelve months — though the primary aesthetic improvement is visible from week two.
