Dr Wong Wai Yee, an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialist, performs the implant placement surgery, while Dr Teo Juin Wei, a Prosthodontics specialist, designs and fits the ceramic implant crown. This dual-specialist approach ensures that both the surgical and restorative components are executed to the highest standard within the same clinic, eliminating the coordination delays that arise with external referrals. The procedure begins with a comprehensive assessment including digital X-rays or CBCT cone beam scanning to evaluate bone volume and anatomy. Where bone grafting is required, this is also performed in-house. Implant surgery is carried out under local anaesthesia with sedation available for anxious patients. The implant (titanium fixture) is given a healing period of 3–6 months for osseointegration before the abutment and final ceramic crown are fitted. Implants at PKWY Dental are eligible for Medisave claims under MediShield Life, and the clinic assists patients with the application process. The net out-of-pocket cost per implant starts from SGD 3,565 after Medisave, making PKWY Dental competitive for a specialist practice in the Orchard district. Full treatment is completed across multiple visits spanning approximately 4–9 months depending on bone condition and healing. The ceramic crowns used are fabricated to match the natural dentition in colour, translucency, and bite function.
