A four-marker immune surveillance panel measuring all four major immunoglobulin classes — IgE (allergy driver), IgA (mucosal immunity), IgG (main memory antibody), and IgM (acute immune response). Together they reveal the balance and functionality of the humoral immune system. PKBH Olomouc uses the VirClia Lotus or i-Chroma II immunoassay platforms and the SEKK-accredited Mindray and Immulite systems. Useful for investigating recurrent infections, suspected immunodeficiency, chronic allergy, or autoimmune conditions. Walk-in, no referral.
The humoral immune system — the branch that produces antibodies — can be quantitatively profiled through four serum immunoglobulin measurements. This panel gives a snapshot of the four major immunoglobulin classes and provides clinically actionable information across allergy, immunodeficiency, infection susceptibility, and autoimmune conditions. Markers included: - **IgE (total)** — the antibody class responsible for allergic reactions. Elevated total IgE (> 100 IU/mL in adults) suggests atopic sensitisation or parasitic infection. While total IgE does not identify specific allergens (specific IgE tests are needed for that), it confirms the allergic phenotype and quantifies its magnitude. Markedly elevated IgE (> 1,000–2,000 IU/mL) raises the question of rare conditions such as hyper-IgE syndrome, parasitic infection, or IgE myeloma. Measured at PKBH at 374 Kč. - **IgA** — the predominant antibody in mucosal secretions (gut, respiratory tract, saliva). Serum IgA reflects systemic IgA production capacity. IgA deficiency (< 0.07 g/L) is the most common primary immunodeficiency in adults and predisposes to respiratory and GI infections, as well as coeliac disease and autoimmune conditions. Very high IgA can occur in IgA nephropathy and certain liver diseases. PKBH price: 178 Kč. - **IgG** — the most abundant serum immunoglobulin and the workhorse of long-term immunity. IgG has four subclasses (IgG1–4) that can be measured separately; total IgG here provides the first-level screen. Hypogammaglobulinaemia (low total IgG) indicates impaired memory B-cell function — relevant in common variable immunodeficiency, haematological malignancies, or post-chemotherapy states. Elevated IgG is a feature of chronic infection, hepatitis, and some autoimmune diseases. Price: 181 Kč. - **IgM** — the first antibody class produced during a new infection (acute phase marker). Persistent high IgM can indicate chronic B-cell activation; very low IgM is seen in some primary immunodeficiency conditions. In combination with IgG and IgA, IgM completes the full humoral profile. Price: 184 Kč. At PKBH Olomouc, immunoglobulin measurement uses validated quantitative immunoturbidimetry or immunochemiluminescence on SEKK-accredited platforms. The i-Chroma Reader and i-Chroma II platforms are available for supplementary immunochemistry. **Who benefits:** Adults with recurrent sinopulmonary infections more than 3 times per year; individuals with known or suspected primary immunodeficiency; people with confirmed allergic conditions wanting to quantify IgE burden; anyone with coeliac disease (IgA deficiency affects anti-tTG IgA accuracy); patients monitoring response to immunosuppressive therapy. **Preparation:** No fasting required. Walk in from 07:00 at any PKBH Olomouc site — no appointment or referral needed. **Results:** Same or next working day. The immunoglobulin panel is a foundational screen; specific IgE allergen testing, IgG subclasses, or complement measurements can be added at additional cost from PKBH's extended menu.
