Type
Extraction
Duration
30 min
Removal of a tooth that cannot be saved or is causing problems, performed by an oral surgeon under local anaesthesia. Straightforward extractions are quick, while surgical removal is used for broken-down teeth, retained roots or impacted teeth such as wisdom teeth. Anaesthesia is included and suture removal is free, and A-PRF growth factors from the patient's own blood can be added to support healing of the socket afterward.
An extraction is the removal of a tooth and is recommended when a tooth is too damaged by decay or fracture to restore, is severely loosened by gum disease, is retained as a root, or is impacted and causing pain or crowding — as is common with wisdom teeth. At Stomatologia Pietrzyccy extractions are carried out by Dr Marcin Pietrzycki, whose specialisation is in oral surgery, so more difficult cases can be managed in-house. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, which is included in the fee, and the approach depends on the tooth: a simple extraction loosens and removes a visible, accessible tooth, while a surgical extraction is used for broken-down, root-filled or impacted teeth and may involve a small gum incision and, where necessary, sectioning of the tooth for easier removal. Stitches are placed when needed and their removal is free. To support healing, the clinic can prepare A-PRF growth factors from a small sample of the patient's own blood and place them in the socket, which is associated with supporting the body's natural recovery. Clear aftercare instructions are given to protect the clot and reduce the chance of complications. Where the extracted tooth is to be replaced by an implant, the surgeon will discuss whether immediate placement or socket preservation is appropriate at the same visit.
