Surgical lip lift by MUDr. Petros Christodoulou at Medicom Clinic, Prague 1. Unlike filler injections, which add volume, a lip lift shortens the distance between the nose and the upper lip border, rolling the lip upward to reveal more of the pink lip and often a glimpse of the upper teeth at rest — a structural, permanent rejuvenation of the mouth area. The fine incision is concealed in the shadow directly beneath the nostril sills, where it heals to a near-invisible line.
About this treatment
With age, the skin between the nose and the upper lip (the philtrum) lengthens, the upper lip thins and rolls inward, and the teeth disappear from view when the mouth is relaxed — changes that filler cannot correct and frequently makes worse by adding heaviness to an already lengthened lip.
What a lip lift does
through a precisely designed excision hidden at the base of the nose (the 'bullhorn' pattern following the nostril sills), a measured strip of skin is removed and the upper lip is elevated. The philtrum shortens to a youthful proportion, the vermilion (pink lip) rotates outward gaining apparent fullness without any added volume, and a few millimetres of upper incisor show return at rest — one of the strongest markers of a youthful mouth.
