Photorejuvenation — Fotona Laser

Photorejuvenation at Petra Clinic uses the Fotona Dynamis laser to deliver selective photothermal energy to the dermis, stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin without disrupting the skin surface. The treatment improves superficial wrinkles, mild skin laxity and uneven tone across the face, neck and décolletage. Sessions take 15–20 minutes with no anaesthetic, no downtime and no post-procedure restrictions. For gradual, low-downtime skin maintenance it serves as an effective complement to more intensive procedures, and can be repeated every four to eight weeks.

Petra Clinic's photorejuvenation protocol uses the Fotona Dynamis Nd:YAG laser, which delivers 1064 nm pulses in a non-ablative long-pulse mode. At this wavelength and pulse duration, the energy passes through the epidermis with minimal absorption and is deposited in the collagen-rich dermis, where it is absorbed by haemoglobin in the superficial vasculature and by water in the collagen matrix. The resulting mild heating — maintained below the ablation threshold — activates the tissue repair response: heat-shock proteins are released, fibroblasts proliferate and begin synthesising new collagen and elastin over the following weeks. The mechanism is similar to intense pulsed light (IPL) photorejuvenation in biological effect, but the coherent monochromatic laser beam allows more precise control of penetration depth and energy density, especially on darker Czech skin phototypes where IPL can carry a higher risk of melanin-absorption complications. Sessions are typically 15–20 minutes. The skin may appear slightly pink for a few hours immediately after treatment, and some clients notice mild warmth for the first day. No preparation beyond clean skin is required, and clients can apply makeup and return to full activities immediately. Progressive improvement in skin tone, fine lines and pore visibility accumulates over a course of four to six monthly sessions. For clients with more advanced wrinkling or pigmentation, photorejuvenation is recommended as a preparatory or maintenance protocol alongside the clinic's Thulium Laser or 4D Lifting programme.
