Hyaluronic acid (HA) lip augmentation at Perfect Skin Berlin uses a cross-linked HA gel — a substance naturally present in skin and connective tissue — injected into the lips to increase volume, sharpen the vermilion border, reduce the philtrum-to-cupid's-bow ratio, and improve overall lip proportion relative to the surrounding facial features. HA fillers for the lips are formulated with a specific cross-linking density that produces a soft, natural feel appropriate for the highly mobile lip tissue. Unlike stiffer cheek or chin fillers, lip-specific products are engineered to move naturally with facial expressions and resist migration. The product integrates with the existing lip tissue and attracts water molecules through osmosis, contributing both immediate volume and gradual hydration of the lip mucosa. The 30-minute appointment begins with the application of a topical anaesthetic cream to the lip area, which is left in place for approximately 10–15 minutes to reduce injection discomfort. Many HA fillers also contain lidocaine (a local anaesthetic) within the gel itself, providing additional comfort as the injections proceed.
