The ablative 2940 nm Er:YAG component vaporises microscopic columns of the epidermis and superficial dermis in a fractional pattern, creating tiny ablative channels surrounded by intact tissue bridges; this direct tissue removal stimulates rapid surface renewal and addresses the textural concerns — fine lines, roughness, enlarged pores, and superficial acne scarring — that require actual resurfacing rather than just thermal remodelling.
