Parkway Radiology's MRI service delivers diagnostic-grade magnetic resonance imaging across four hospital campuses in Singapore, including Mount Elizabeth (Orchard and Novena), Gleneagles, and Parkway East. MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves — not ionising radiation — to produce highly detailed cross-sectional images from any angle, making it the gold standard for soft-tissue evaluation across the brain, spine, joints, abdomen, pelvis, and cardiovascular system. Each scan is conducted by an experienced radiographer and reported by a specialist radiologist affiliated with IHH Healthcare's clinical network — one of Asia's largest private hospital groups with over 30 years of radiology expertise. Before the procedure, patients complete a safety screening questionnaire to ensure compatibility with the magnetic environment. Personal items including metal objects, wallets, and electronic devices are stored securely in lockers. Earplugs are provided for comfort during the scan. Optional contrast enhancement (gadolinium injection) may be requested by the referring physician to improve visualisation of vascular or tumour pathology. The procedure is painless and typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, though complex protocols may require longer. Patients with claustrophobia can discuss sedation options with the radiology team prior to the appointment. Results and images are accessible via the MyHealth360 patient app, and healthcare providers can retrieve reports through the VueMotion portal.
