CT Scan

Type

CT Scan

Duration

30 min

Advanced multi-slice computed tomography producing detailed cross-sectional images of the body for rapid, precise diagnosis. Parkway Radiology operates Singapore's first Photon-Counting CT (PCCT) NAEOTOM Alpha, delivering ultra-low-dose imaging with superior resolution.

Parkway Radiology operates one of the most advanced CT imaging networks in Singapore, anchored by the NAEOTOM Alpha — the world's first clinically approved Photon-Counting CT (PCCT) scanner and Singapore's first installation of this technology. Unlike conventional CT detectors, photon-counting detectors directly convert X-ray photons into electrical signals, eliminating electronic noise and enabling true spectral imaging at significantly reduced radiation doses. This translates into sharper anatomical detail, improved detection of small lesions, and cleaner vascular imaging — a meaningful clinical advantage for complex cases including oncology, cardiac, and vascular studies. The CT service also encompasses the full conventional CT portfolio: brain and body imaging, CT angiography, virtual colonoscopy, bone and joint assessment, chest HRCT, and abdominal/pelvic studies with oral or intravenous contrast as clinically indicated. Each study is conducted on fast, multi-slice equipment capable of 3D reconstruction in multiple planes. Examination time typically ranges from 15 to 90 minutes depending on the region and preparation requirements. A brief informed consent process covers contrast risks for studies requiring intravenous contrast injection. Radiologist reports are available digitally through the MyHealth360 app and VueMotion provider portal. CT services are available at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, and Parkway East Hospital — all within IHH Healthcare's private hospital network, with Medisave and major insurance plans accepted.
