A dental crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged, heavily filled or root-treated tooth, restoring its shape, strength and appearance. PARKOWA makes full-ceramic and zirconia crowns for a natural, metal-free look, as well as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns. Crowns are also used to complete implant treatment. A temporary crown protects the tooth while the permanent restoration is made in the laboratory.

About this treatment

A crown is an individually made restoration that fits over the whole visible part of a tooth, used when a tooth is too broken down, cracked or heavily filled to be restored with a simple filling, or after root canal treatment when the remaining tooth needs protecting. The process usually takes two stages: the tooth is prepared and an impression or scan taken, a temporary crown is fitted to protect it, and the laboratory makes the definitive crown, which is then cemented at a second visit.
