The Vectus platform is distinguished from older diode systems by its exceptionally large treatment spot size and integrated Skintel melanin reader, which measures the patient's actual skin melanin concentration before each session and sets the maximum safe energy level accordingly. The large spot size allows the technician to cover the full bikini area quickly and with uniform energy distribution, reducing the risk of missed patches or inconsistent results that can occur with smaller handpieces. A contact cooling system built into the handpiece chills the skin surface before, during, and after each pulse, significantly reducing discomfort and protecting the epidermis from thermal injury. The full bikini treatment covers the entire pubic region including the bikini line, mons pubis, labia, and perianal area. Each session takes approximately 30 minutes. The laser energy is absorbed by melanin in the hair shaft and transmitted to the follicle, where the resulting heat damages the germinal cells responsible for hair growth. Because only follicles in the active growth phase (anagen) are susceptible, multiple sessions are required to catch all follicles as they cycle through this phase.
