The device delivers the laser in a fractional pattern, creating thousands of microscopic treatment columns (microthermal zones) across the skin surface while leaving intervening bridges of intact tissue. This fractional approach dramatically accelerates healing compared to traditional full-field ablative resurfacing while still achieving meaningful depth of treatment. Each microthermal zone extends from the epidermis down into the papillary and reticular dermis, vaporising old, damaged tissue and triggering an intense wound-healing response. Over the following weeks, the body replaces the treated columns with new collagen-rich tissue that is smoother, firmer, and more evenly pigmented than the original. The untreated tissue bridges serve as reservoirs of healthy cells that migrate inward to accelerate re-epithelialisation, typically completing surface healing within 5-7 days.
