Tooth Extraction

A tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that cannot be saved or is causing problems — for example, one that is severely broken down by decay, fractured below the gum, badly affected by gum disease, or an impacted wisdom tooth that is crowding or repeatedly becoming infected. At OrtoImplant Clinic extractions are handled by clinicians with surgical training, which is particularly relevant for more difficult cases.

Simple extractions of fully erupted teeth are carried out under local anaesthetic by loosening and lifting the tooth from its socket, and sit at the lower end of the clinic's price range. Surgical extractions — most commonly impacted wisdom teeth, but also teeth that are broken at the gum line or have curved roots — may require a small incision and sectioning of the tooth, and are priced higher to reflect the additional work.
