Serological blood test to detect Lyme disease antibodies (IgG and IgM).

This Lyme disease Borrelia IgG and IgM blood test detects antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, the cause of Lyme disease. IgG and IgM antibodies are produced by the immune system in response to infection. The test is used when Lyme disease is suspected, particularly with symptoms like fever, fatigue, headache, muscle and joint pain, and erythema migrans rash. Accurate testing requires appropriate timing, as antibody levels take time to develop. Results indicate recent/active (positive IgM), past (positive IgG), or no infection (negative IgG and IgM).
