A blood test to check for a hepatitis B infection (antigen) and the antibodies in the body to fight the infection. Ideal for medical professionals.

This test is the follow up test if you have had the Hepatitis B Core TOTAL antibodies come back as "POSITIVE" and you need the specific follow up for the IgM part of the Core Antibodies. You don't need to have this test by default. For the general screen for Hepatitis B you need this one: Hepatitis B Screen Blood Test. Simple and accurate blood test from a laboratory you can speak to.

Biomarkers Tested

3
Hepatitis B Core IgM Antibodies (HbcM) detected/not detected

Indicates a current Hepatitis B infection.

HIV (Current) reactive/non-reactive

Detects HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies and/or p24 antigen. Fourth-generation tests can detect infection as early as 2–4 weeks after exposure. Early detection enables treatment that can achieve viral suppression and prevent transmission.

Hepatitis C (anti-HCV) reactive/non-reactive

Detects antibodies to hepatitis C virus, indicating current or past infection. A positive result requires confirmatory RNA testing. Hepatitis C is now curable with direct-acting antiviral medications in most patients.
