Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (1.5 ATA)

Type

Hyperbaric Oxygen

Duration

2 hours

What's included

3 deliverables in this treatment

  • 90-minute HBOT session at 1.5 ATA
  • Pressurisation, treatment, and depressurisation included
  • Pre-session briefing on ear equalisation

A 90-minute hyperbaric oxygen therapy session at 1.5 ATA, breathing oxygen-enriched air under increased atmospheric pressure. The elevated pressure increases the partial pressure of oxygen in the bloodstream, which may support tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and enhance recovery. Conducted in a chamber at One Thirty Labs' Palegade studio.

About this treatment

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves breathing oxygen-enriched air inside a pressurised chamber. At 1.5 ATA (atmospheres absolute), the ambient pressure is roughly 50% above normal sea-level pressure, equivalent to approximately 5 metres below the water surface. This increase in pressure raises the partial pressure of oxygen dissolved in plasma, allowing tissues to receive more oxygen than is possible under normal breathing conditions.

The elevated tissue oxygenation is associated with several physiological responses: enhanced angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation), upregulation of growth factors involved in tissue repair, modulation of inflammatory pathways, and support for immune cell function. Published research has explored HBOT applications across wound healing, neurological recovery, sports performance, and general wellness, though most robust evidence applies to clinical-grade…

At 1.5 ATA, One Thirty Labs' HBOT offering falls in the mild/wellness tier. The 90-minute session duration includes pressurisation, the treatment period, and depressurisation. Clients may experience ear-equalisation pressure during the initial descent, similar to flying or diving.
