About this treatment
Respiratory infection and COVID-19 blood tests detect antibodies your immune system produces in response to viral infections. Unlike rapid antigen tests that detect active infection, antibody tests show whether you've been previously infected or vaccinated — useful for understanding your immune status. IgM antibodies appear during active or recent infection, while IgG antibodies indicate past infection or vaccination and may provide some degree of ongoing immunity. Quantitative antibody tests measure the level of antibodies present, which can help assess the strength of your immune response over time.
