Type
Compression Therapy
Duration
30 min
A thirty-minute pneumatic compression therapy session using Normatec 3 boots or sleeves. Sequential air chambers inflate and deflate in a wave-like pattern from the feet upward, applying graduated pressure to promote venous return and lymphatic flow. Sessions are complemented with HigherDose PEMF mats for additional relaxation.
Normatec 3 is a pneumatic compression system that uses air-filled chambers in boot or sleeve attachments to apply sequential, wave-like pressure to the legs or arms. The chambers inflate in a distal-to-proximal pattern — starting at the feet and moving upward through the calves and thighs — mimicking the body's natural venous return mechanisms. This graduated compression is widely used in sports recovery settings and has been studied for its potential to reduce perceived muscle soreness and support lymphatic drainage. Octane Wellness operates two Normatec 3 units with boots available in sizes S, M, and L to accommodate different body types. Each treatment station is paired with a HigherDose PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) mat, adding another recovery modality to the session. Clients sit in a reclined position and can read, use their phone, or simply relax during the treatment. At EUR 25 for a thirty-minute single-zone session, pressotherapy is the most affordable standalone treatment at Octane and serves as an accessible entry point for clients curious about recovery technologies. Longer sessions of 45 or 60 minutes are also available. The treatment features prominently in the Recovery Ritual package, where it is combined with whole-body cryotherapy and infrared sauna for a comprehensive contrast-based recovery protocol.
