Liposuction

Liposuction at OB CARE removes stubborn, diet-resistant fat deposits — abdomen, flanks, thighs, knees, arms, and the area under the chin — through small incisions using fine cannulas. The procedure is performed by plastic surgeon MUDr. Martin Skála with general anaesthesia for larger areas or local anaesthesia for small zones such as the chin (21,000 Kč including the compression garment). As elsewhere on the clinic's price list, the from-35,000 Kč package covers anaesthesia, compression garments, medication, and any clinic stay. Liposuction is also frequently combined with abdominoplasty or arm and thigh lifts in the clinic's body-contouring programme.

Liposuction is body contouring, not weight loss: it permanently removes localised fat cells from zones that resist diet and exercise — the genetically stubborn deposits at the lower abdomen, flanks ('love handles'), outer and inner thighs, inner knees, upper arms, and under the chin. **The procedure:** Through incisions of a few millimetres, tumescent fluid (saline with local anaesthetic and adrenaline) is infiltrated to firm the fat, minimise bleeding, and provide pain relief. Fine cannulas then aspirate the fat layer evenly, preserving a uniform layer beneath the skin to keep the surface smooth. Small zones (chin) are done under local anaesthesia in under an hour; multi-zone body liposuction is done under general anaesthesia in the clinic's hospital theatres. **Chin liposuction (21,000 Kč):** A short local-anaesthesia procedure that sharpens the jawline and removes a double chin through 2–3 tiny incisions hidden under the chin and behind the earlobes — one of the highest-impact small procedures for facial profile. **What liposuction can and cannot do:** It removes fat — permanently, as adult fat cells do not regenerate in meaningful numbers. It does not tighten significantly loose skin (good skin elasticity is a candidacy criterion; where skin excess dominates, a lift or abdominoplasty — both offered at OB CARE — is the honest recommendation) and it does not treat visceral fat behind the abdominal muscles, which responds only to weight loss. **Recovery:** A compression garment (included) is worn for 4–6 weeks to control swelling and guide skin retraction. Bruising settles over 2–3 weeks; desk work resumes within days for small zones and about a week for larger ones. The contour improves progressively as swelling resolves — judge results at three months, with final refinement up to six months. **Remaining fat distribution:** Treated zones stay proportionally slimmer even with moderate weight fluctuation, but significant weight gain enlarges remaining fat cells everywhere — stable weight protects the result.
