A doctor-led 60-minute health assessment designed specifically for women, combining cardiovascular and metabolic screening with breast examination, cervical smear, pelvic examination, and hormonal markers. Includes metabolic syndrome risk analysis, dietary assessment, and optional mammography for women over 40.

The Female Health Assessment addresses the screening needs that are frequently underserved in routine NHS appointments, where time constraints often limit consultations to a single concern. This programme dedicates a full hour with a Nuffield Health doctor to work through approximately 13 clinical tests covering both general health markers and female-specific examinations. The general component mirrors key elements of the broader assessment menu: blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose for diabetes screening, a full blood count to identify anaemia (a common finding in premenopausal women), urine analysis, and a chest X-ray if clinically warranted. Thyroid function testing is added for women aged 50 and over, reflecting the increased prevalence of thyroid dysfunction around menopause. The female-specific examinations include a cervical smear where appropriate, a pelvic examination, and a thorough breast examination with guidance on self-examination technique. These screenings complement rather than replace NHS screening programmes, offering more frequent monitoring for women who prefer not to wait for the standard intervals. For women aged 40 and above, mammography can be added as a separate appointment at an additional cost. A metabolic syndrome risk analysis integrates the blood results with body composition data to identify early signs of insulin resistance, dyslipidaemia, and central adiposity -- the cluster of risk factors that significantly increases cardiovascular risk in women. The session includes a dietary analysis and the Trium online health risk assessment, which uses clinical algorithms to model longer-term health trajectories.
