VI Peel by Vitality Institute — a blended medium-depth chemical peel using trichloroacetic acid, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and vitamin C. May address fine lines, age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and skin tone unevenness. Sessions take approximately 30 minutes with 5–7 days of peeling. Available at Next Health West Hollywood as part of the medical aesthetics menu.
The VI Peel, manufactured by the Vitality Institute, is a proprietary blended medium-depth chemical peel available through Next Health West Hollywood's aesthetics programme. Unlike single-agent chemical peels (such as a TCA-only or glycolic-only peel), the VI Peel combines five active ingredients in a synergistic multi-acid formula that achieves medium-depth penetration at lower individual acid concentrations, reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) that can complicate single-agent TCA peels in darker skin tones. The formulation includes trichloroacetic acid (TCA) as the primary resurfacing agent, which denatures epidermal and superficial dermal proteins to controlled depth; retinoic acid (vitamin A) which accelerates cellular turnover, inhibits melanogenesis, and stimulates collagen production; salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid that penetrates sebum-filled follicles to clear congestion and provide anti-inflammatory effect; phenol in a sub-deep concentration to extend the peel's penetration depth into the papillary dermis; and vitamin C as an antioxidant that brightens and reduces melanin overproduction during the healing phase. The Vitality Institute offers several VI Peel formulations for different targets: the original VI Peel for general rejuvenation and fine lines; VI Peel Precision Plus for stubborn hyperpigmentation and melasma; and VI Peel Purify for acne-prone and congested skin. The peel is applied in clinic by the aesthetics team in a 30-minute appointment. The treated skin darkens and begins to peel over days 3–5, with full peeling completed by days 7–10, revealing fresher, brighter skin beneath. Clients are advised to avoid sun exposure and use broad-spectrum SPF religiously during the recovery window.
