Type
MRI Scan
Duration
30 min
MRI of a single shoulder joint covering rotator cuff tendons, labrum, biceps tendon, and glenohumeral structures. Standard non-contrast examination.
The shoulder MRI at NewMedical uses coronal oblique, sagittal oblique, and axial sequences optimised for rotator cuff and labral pathology. Each rotator cuff tendon is individually assessed for tendinopathy, partial tears, and full-thickness tears with measurement of any tendon retraction and muscle atrophy. The glenoid labrum is evaluated for SLAP lesions, Bankart lesions, and variants. The long head of biceps is assessed in the bicipital groove. Subacromial bursal fluid and acromioclavicular joint arthropathy contributing to impingement are documented. At 720-740 PLN depending on the specific shoulder protocol, this scan is commonly requested for patients with persistent shoulder pain, post-dislocation instability assessment, suspected rotator cuff tears, and pre-operative planning for arthroscopic repair.
