Thulium Laser — Face

Non-ablative fractional thulium laser resurfacing of the full face at 1927nm wavelength, targeting the superficial dermis to improve skin tone, reduce pigmentation, and refine texture with minimal downtime compared to ablative lasers.

The thulium laser operates at a wavelength of 1927nm, which has a strong affinity for water in the superficial dermis and epidermis. Unlike ablative CO2 or erbium lasers that vaporise tissue, the thulium laser delivers non-ablative fractional energy that creates columns of controlled thermal coagulation in the upper skin layers without removing tissue. This selective heating denatures damaged collagen and melanin-laden keratinocytes while leaving the surrounding tissue intact to serve as a reservoir for rapid healing. The 1927nm wavelength is particularly effective for pigmentary concerns because its absorption characteristics allow it to target melanin deposits in the dermal-epidermal junction — the layer where sun damage, melasma, and age spots concentrate. During treatment, the laser handpiece delivers thousands of microscopic thermal zones per square centimetre in a fractional pattern, treating 10-40% of the skin surface per pass while leaving untreated skin bridges between treatment zones.
