Lip augmentation at Neonia uses cross-linked hyaluronic acid fillers specifically formulated for the lip area, where the tissue is thin, highly vascularised, and requires a product with enough cohesivity to hold shape while remaining soft enough to feel natural during movement and expression. The standard treatment involves one syringe (1ml) of filler, which is sufficient for a noticeable but proportionate enhancement. The practitioner begins with a detailed discussion of the patient's goals — whether the priority is overall volume increase, definition of the cupid's bow and vermilion border, correction of asymmetry, or improvement of perioral hydration. A topical numbing cream is applied to the lip area for 15-20 minutes before treatment. Most modern HA lip fillers also contain integrated lidocaine, which provides additional anaesthesia as the product is injected, making the procedure progressively more comfortable. Injection technique varies by area: the vermilion border is typically treated with a linear threading technique for crisp definition, while the body of the lip receives bolus deposits for volume. The practitioner moulds the filler between injection points to ensure even distribution. The entire injection process takes approximately 15-20 minutes, with the full appointment including consultation and numbing lasting around 30 minutes. Mild swelling is expected for 24-48 hours post-treatment, during which the lips will appear slightly fuller than the final result. Bruising is possible but typically minor. The final shape settles within 1-2 weeks as the filler integrates with the surrounding tissue and any swelling resolves.
