The HIFU Ulfit system at Neonia delivers focused ultrasound energy to precise tissue depths beneath the facial skin, targeting the SMAS (superficial musculo-aponeurotic system) layer at 4.5mm, the deep dermis at 3.0mm, and the superficial dermis at 1.5mm. Each cartridge focuses ultrasound energy into a micro-coagulation point at the target depth, creating a controlled thermal injury that triggers the body's wound-healing response and stimulates new collagen and elastin production over the following 2-6 months. The SMAS layer is the same structural tissue layer that surgeons manipulate during a traditional surgical facelift. By heating this layer to 60-70°C with focused ultrasound, HIFU causes the collagen fibres within the SMAS to contract and shorten immediately, producing a visible lifting effect that is apparent even on the day of treatment.
