Rehabilitační klinika Malvazinky is a well-established private hospital in Prague 5's Smíchov district, operated by Mediterra s.r.o. as part of Group Mediterra — a VAMED Austria Group member running nine medical facilities across the Czech Republic. The clinic was established in 2003 and significantly expanded in 2013 with a new inpatient pavilion. It is accredited by SAK (the Czech State Accreditation Commission), one of the most rigorous national quality standards in Central European healthcare, with its most recent re-accreditation completed in 2024. The hospital spans both inpatient rehabilitation and a broad outpatient ambulatory programme. Its 60-bed inpatient wing specialises in intensive post-trauma and post-surgical rehabilitation, long-term intensive care (NIP/DIOP), and complex orthopaedic recovery including total knee and hip replacement. The outpatient ambulance covers orthopaedics, cardiology, internal medicine, neurology, clinical biochemistry, physiotherapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and nutritional counselling — an unusually comprehensive multidisciplinary range for a private rehabilitation setting. Diagnostic imaging is provided through the hospital's radiology and ultrasound department (RTG a sono), staffed by MUDr. Jaroslav Štrof (CSc., MBA) from Monday to Friday. The department performs standard X-ray across all anatomical regions and comprehensive ultrasound including abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, soft tissue, musculoskeletal, and vascular (peripheral veins) examinations. CT imaging for patients requiring cross-sectional scanning is arranged through Group Mediterra's affiliated imaging network, which includes facilities across Prague and Central Bohemia. For preventive health, the clinic runs structured programmes including KardioPrevent — a two-visit cardiovascular screening package with stress echocardiography, ergometry, and complete cardiac biochemistry (9,000 CZK / ~€360) — and the Komplexní preventivní prohlídka (KPP), a comprehensive multi-specialist health check combining five medical disciplines, full laboratory work-up, abdominal ultrasound, and chest X-ray (20,500 CZK / ~€820). Both programmes are designed for self-pay patients and require no GP referral. International patients are received through the Group Mediterra International Patient Program, which coordinates logistics from arrival to departure.
