A crown is a custom-made cap that covers a damaged, heavily filled or root-treated tooth to restore its shape, strength and appearance. NB Dental uses porcelain and all-ceramic crowns, which are matched to the colour of neighbouring teeth for a natural look. Crowns are used to rebuild teeth that are too broken down for a simple filling, to protect a tooth after root canal treatment, and as the visible restoration on top of a dental implant.

Providing a crown usually takes more than one visit: the tooth is prepared and shaped, a precise impression or digital scan is taken, and a temporary crown is fitted while the clinic's dental technicians fabricate the final restoration, which is then checked for fit, bite and colour before being permanently bonded.
