The National Skin Centre's Procedure Suites and Mandalay Clinic Laser Suites offer one of the broadest medical skin treatment capabilities in Singapore's public health system, supporting the management of a wide range of chronic and acute skin conditions beyond the scope of general practice. Chemical peels at NSC are performed in a clinical setting using medical-grade formulations including glycolic, salicylic, and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peels, prescribed by dermatologists for conditions including acne, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma, and photoageing. The depth and agent are calibrated to the patient's skin type, condition, and treatment goals. NSC's laser infrastructure spans multiple modalities including pulsed-dye laser (PDL) for vascular lesions such as port-wine stains, haemangiomas, and rosacea; Q-switched and picosecond lasers for pigmented lesions, tattoo removal, and melasma; fractional ablative and non-ablative laser for acne scarring and skin resurfacing; and CO2 laser for warts, seborrhoeic keratoses, and other epidermal lesions. Phototherapy services include narrowband UVB (NB-UVB), PUVA (psoralen + UVA), and targeted phototherapy for psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema, and mycosis fungoides. NSC operates dedicated phototherapy units and coordinates ongoing treatment courses for chronic inflammatory skin conditions. Minor surgical procedures — including excision of skin cancers, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma under local anaesthesia — are performed in procedure rooms with dermatopathology support. For complex or high-risk lesions, NSC's dermatological surgeons manage Mohs micrographic surgery, maximising tissue preservation and cure rates. NSC also manages chronic skin conditions such as eczema (atopic dermatitis) and psoriasis through both medical and procedural pathways, including biologics and systemic immunosuppressants for refractory disease.
