About this treatment
The National Skin Centre offers comprehensive mole and skin lesion assessment and removal services, conducted by accredited specialist dermatologists with access to the full range of removal modalities and diagnostic pathology support.
Any mole or skin lesion brought to NSC's attention is first assessed by a dermatologist to determine its nature — benign, pre-malignant, or potentially malignant. NSC's clinicians are trained in dermoscopy and clinical pattern recognition, enabling accurate triage and appropriate treatment planning.
Removal methods employed at NSC include surgical excision (cutting the lesion out with a margin of surrounding skin), shave excision (for raised, benign lesions), electrodessication, cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen, and laser removal for superficial or pigmented lesions. Method selection is based on lesion type, location, size, depth, and the patient's skin type and healing profile.
