About this treatment
Liposuction is the definitive treatment for disproportionate fat distribution — the genetically stubborn deposits that persist at healthy weight. It is a contouring procedure, not a weight-loss method: the goal is reshaping silhouette and proportion.
Technique
Through 3–4 mm incisions hidden in skin creases, the surgeon first infiltrates tumescent fluid (saline with local anaesthetic and adrenaline) that minimises bleeding and bruising, then removes fat with fine cannulas in controlled, even passes. Depending on extent, the procedure runs under local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia, taking 1–2.5 hours.

Preparation required
Be at or near a stable, healthy weight. Stop smoking 4 weeks before. Avoid blood thinners for 2 weeks prior. Bring loose dark clothing for after surgery and plan to wear the compression garment for about 6 weeks.
