Breast MRI at MyDiagnostic uses the 3.0 Tesla Philips Ingenia Elition with dedicated breast coils and gadolinium contrast enhancement to achieve the highest sensitivity for breast cancer detection among all imaging modalities. The dynamic contrast protocol captures enhancement kinetics that help distinguish benign from malignant lesions based on wash-in and wash-out patterns. The examination is particularly indicated for women with dense breast tissue where mammographic sensitivity is limited, those with a strong family history or genetic predisposition such as BRCA1/2 carriers, patients with known breast cancer being assessed for multifocality or contralateral disease, and women with breast implants where mammographic views are restricted. Breast MRI can also monitor treatment response during neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
