MRI Scan
Duration
30 min
Native 3.0 Tesla MRI of the brain for detection of structural abnormalities, tumours, ischaemic changes, and neurodegenerative conditions. No referral required.
The brain MRI at MyDiagnostic uses the Philips Ingenia Elition 3.0 Tesla scanner to produce high-resolution cross-sectional imaging of the entire intracranial compartment. The 3T field strength delivers stronger signal than conventional 1.5T systems, improving differentiation between grey and white matter, sharpening detection of small focal lesions, and enabling better visualisation of structures such as the hippocampus, brainstem, and cerebellum. The standard cranial protocol includes multi-planar acquisitions with T1-weighted, T2-weighted, FLAIR, and diffusion-weighted sequences. This combination covers a broad range of pathology: primary and metastatic brain tumours, acute and chronic ischaemia, demyelinating disease such as multiple sclerosis, congenital malformations, and age-related atrophy. The Ambient Experience system allows patients to select calming visuals and music during the scan, which is particularly helpful for those who experience claustrophobia. Private patients can book without a GP or specialist referral, and the clinic targets a turnaround of 48 hours from appointment booking to written report. Contrast enhancement with gadolinium is available as a EUR 60 add-on when clinically indicated.
